FRANK HOWELL
Limited
Edition Prints
Internationally known master artist Frank Howell
of Santa Fe, who died in 1997, was multi-faceted, working in a wide variety of
media, including acrylics, lithographs, monotypes, watercolors, oils, drawings,
sculptures and limited-edition prints. Born in Sioux City,
Iowa, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa,
did graduate work at that university and the University of Iowa, and studied at
the Chicago Art Institute. His work is widely exhibited in museums and galleries
throughout the world, and in numerous private and corporate collections. Printed
on archival-quality, quietly elegant Mohawk Super Fine paper, these fine-art reproductions,
from original acrylic paintings, were produced through the use of an innovative
printing process, utilizing additional runs to highlight colors and produce a
sharp, brilliant image. The printing, done at Master Editions in Santa Fe, was
overseen by the artist and his master printer. There were
950 reproductions made of each of the four images presented here, plus 95 Artist's
Proofs and two Printer's Proofs. Then the printing plates were destroyed. Each
reproduction is hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Each reproduction is shipped
with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by the artist and the publisher.
